Miccosukee Volunteer Fire and Rescue Has Been Saving Lives And Property Since 1978

Put together by concerned citizens to protect Miccosukee and Miccosukee Land Cooperative in 1979 both departments were built on heart with little to no funding. After merging in 1991, we are stronger than ever with 3 stations protecting 98 square miles in North East Leon County, Florida.

Cromartie Station

Our headquarters station sits in the heart of the Miccosukee community along Cromartie Road, providing central response to rural neighborhoods, Lake Miccosukee areas, and core northeast Leon County.

It houses one of our primary fire engines (pumper/brush truck), support vehicles, and equipment for structural fires, medical calls, and initial wildland response.

On-call volunteers nearby ensure fast turnout to protect the department's main coverage zone.

Co-Op Station

The first Miccosukee station located in the heart of the Miccosukee Land Cooperative area along Miccosukee Road, this station covers western and southern parts of our service area, supporting quick access to rural roads and overlapping zones.

It stations a quick response medical vehicle and a small tanker and related tools for fires, medical, and rescue needs.

Local volunteers enable rapid response to the cooperative's residential and outlying properties.

Heatherwood Station

Situated in the Heatherwood/Hill-top Country Store neighborhood, this station serves eastern and southeastern rural sections, including areas near major roads and wooded terrain. It plays a vital role in extending coverage to this growing residential pocket.

It houses a 3000 galling Mack engine, plus equipment focused on wildland fires and quick-access rescues.

Nearby volunteers provide fast coverage to this growing residential pocket within our 98-165 square mile territory.
